Chapter Business Meeting Minutes, Wrightsville Beach, NC

The General Business Meeting of the North Carolina National Academy Associates was called to order by Chapter President Greg Harrington at 2:15 PM.
President Harrington asked Secretary/Treasurer Cindy Isenhour to give the members a report of the chapter’s finances and S/T Isenhour reviewed her prepared financial reports.
President Harrington asked for a motion to accept the financial reports.
MOTION:
A motion to accept the reports was made by First Vice President Mike Carver and received a second from Harold Medlock. The members voted and the motion was carried.
First Vice President Mike Carver advised the members that the 2008 summer conference would be held in Kitty Hawk. Past President Joey Reynolds suggested not scheduling the conference on dates that included Father’s Day in an effort to increase conference attendance.
President Harrington asked Steve Warren to give the members an update on the 2007 fall conference that is scheduled to be held in Morganton, NC on November 2, 2007. Mr. Warren advised members the conference would be held at the Morganton Community House and rooms have been reserved at the Comfort Inn at a rate of $52.95 + tax.
President Harrington asked Immediate Past President Steve Gillikin to present the nominating committee report and Past President Gillikin reported the committee recommended the following persons for the following positions:
- Secretary/Treasurer – Mike Adams
- District 1 Representative – Eric Copeland
- District 3 Representative – Barry Key
- District 5 Representative – Tom Deighton
- District 7 Representative – Eddie VunCannon
- District 9 Representative – James Buie
President Harrington asked if there were any nominations from the floor and in absence of any nominations asked for a motion to accept the nomination committee’s recommendation.
MOTION:
A motion to accept the recommendations was made by Jeff Isenhour and received a second from First Vice President Mike Carver. The members voted and the motion passed.
President Harrington congratulated the nominees.
President Harrington asked S/T to brief the members on the Youth Leadership Program and this year’s nominee to that program. S/T Isenhour advised members that Kadie Williams is this year’s nominee and she emphasized the chapter’s preference to select children of active members for this program.
President Harrington thanked FBI SAC Nate Gray for his continued support of the North Carolina Chapter and his continued attendance at chapter functions.
President Harrington thanked conference vendors for their support of the chapter.
Training Coordinator Jerry Senatore thanked members for their continued attendance at conference events and asked each member to contact a non-participating member and urge them to attend chapter functions.
President Harrington asked the members if anyone had any further chapter business to discuss and in absence of any further business asked for a motion to close the business meeting.
MOTION:
A motion to close the business meeting was made by Jeff Isenhour and received a second from Bill Farley. The members voted and the motion passed.
The business meeting adjourned at 2:30 PM.
