FBI National Academy Associates North Carolina Chapter March 14, 2008 Chapter Business Meeting Minutes, Cary, NC Prepared by: Myron Guthrie, Chapter Historian The General Meeting of the North Carolina National Academy Associates was called to order by Chapter President Cindy Isenhour at 9:00 AM. President Isenhour welcomed all the graduates to the training conference and introduced Charlotte FBI Office SAC Nate Gray. President Isenhour asked Historian Myron Guthrie to conduct a roll-call of the Executive Board. All Executive Board Members answered present with the exception of First Vice President Mike Carver. President Isenhour asked all past presidents in attendance to stand and Loy Ingold, Joey Reynolds, and Greg Harrington were recognized. President Isenhour recognized Mr. Neil Forney, who graduated from the 54th Session of the National Academy. President Isenhour asked the members if anyone wanted a reading of the minutes from the business meeting in Morganton on November 2, 2007, and with no one requesting a reading, asked for a motion to accept the meeting minutes. Motion A motion to accept the meeting minutes was made by Jeff Isenhour and received a second from James Buie. The members voted and the motion carried. President Isenhour asked District 8 Representative Bill Godley to give the members information on the 2008 Summer Conference and he advised the members that the conference would be held in Kill Devil Hills June 15 – 17, 2008. President Isenhour advised the members that the Second Vice President’s position would be up for election at the summer conference, and advised anyone interested in running for the position to contact Immediate Past President Greg Harrington, who is the election committee chairman. President Isenhour asked Secretary/Treasurer Mike Adams to present the chapter’s financial report and Secretary/Treasurer Adams provided details of the chapter’s finances. Secretary/Treasurer Adams advised the members he had printed copies of financial reports available for review if any member wished to do so. President Isenhour gave members an overview of the new on-line dues payment system and advised only current members will now have access to the national web page. President Isenhour recognized conference vendors in attendance; Lawman’s, Taser, and Integrian, and thanked them for attending the conference. Old Business President Isenhour brought the members up to date on the FBI National Academy Associates, Inc. North Carolina Education Scholarship and advised them that a motion was needed to modify the Chapter By-laws to add a scholarship committee. Copies of the of the proposed by-law change were provided to the members for review. Motion A motion to accept the by-law modification was made by Joey Reynolds and received a second from Second Vice President Marshall Williamson. The members voted and the motion carried. President Isenhour asked the members if anyone knew of any member who had passed away and no deaths were reported. President Isenhour recognized new graduates in attendance. President Isenhour asked Second Vice President Ben Bailey, Secretary/Treasurer Mike Adams, and Historian Myron Guthrie to come forward to take an oath of office. These members, along with President Isenhour took oaths for their various offices. President Isenhour asked members if anyone had any announcements they would like to make or other business they would like to conduct. In the absence of any announcements or further business, President Isenhour asked for a motion to close the meeting. Motion A motion to close the meeting was made by Second Vice President Marshall Williamson and received a second from Jeff Isenhour. The members voted and the motion carried. The business meeting adjourned at 9:30 AM.
