District 2 Representative Joe Bartlett began his law enforcement career with the Greenville Police Department in 1984. He was promoted to the rank of Captain in 2001 and has since served as the Administration Bureau Commander, Patrol Bureau Commander, and Investigations Bureau Commander. During his career with the Greenville Police Department, Captain Bartlett has served in various capacities including Police Officer, Narcotics Investigator, Emergency Response Team Operator, and Patrol and Investigations Supervisor.
Captain Bartlett was awarded his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from East Carolina University in 1983 and was awarded his Masters of Public Administration Degree from East Carolina University in 1997. He is a graduate of the 182nd Session of the FBI National Academy.
